Webinar “History of Education in Indonesia”

To celebrate National Education Day every year, which falls on May 2, the Association of Indonesian History Education Study Programs, in collaboration with the History Education Study Program at the University of Pattimura, held a P3SI Series four webinar with the theme History of Education in Indonesia.
This activity was coordinated by Syaiful Amin, S.Pd., M.Pd, a lecturer in history education at the State University of Semarang (UNNES). This committee was centered at several points throughout Indonesia, involving lecturers of history education throughout Indonesia who were members of the Association of History Education Study Programs throughout Indonesia (P3SI).
Initial remarks from the General Chairperson of P3SI Dr. Abdul Syukur, M.Hum then continued reading the statement of the attitude of the Central Board of the Association of Indonesian History Education Study Programs (P3SI) for the Revision of Government Regulation No. 57 of 2021 concerning National Education Standards with a focus on revisions that were carried out transparently by involving the broader community before invited. P3SI is interested in developing Indonesian History Education and re-proposes Indonesian History Education as a compulsory subject at the primary, secondary, and higher education levels.
The speakers at the fourth series of webinars were Humaidi, M. Hum (Jakarta State University) Arifin Suryo Nugroho, S.Pd., M.Pd (Muhammadiyah University Purwekorto) and Dr. Acim, S.Pd., M.Pd (Pattimura University)
From Ambon, Manise this time greeted the Dean of FKIP Pattimura University, Prof.Dr. Theresia Laurens.,M.Pd. At the same time, officially open the event.
The first speaker, Humaidi, M.Hum, discussed Indonesian Education in the Trajectory of the Ages. Education in genealogy started from the Hindu-Buddhist era; educators were creative people in producing synthetic products. The peak of Islamic education was a continuation of the previous period. Still, the substance was different, namely the teachings of Islam. Islam. Colonial education was the way for the emergence of national consciousness. At the end of the delivery, education development is very eclectic. It adapts to the times with all its advantages and disadvantages.
The second speaker, Arifin Suryo Nugroho,S.Pd.,M.Pd discussed Educating Future Generations Case Study of Intellectual Dynamics in Education Froebelschool Muhammadiyah, the first early childhood school and embryo of TK ABA based on the concept of creative minority thinking from Arnold J. Toynbee with inspiration from the humanist Ahmad Dahlan. It ends with the explanation of the curriculum of various periods with the formulation of Muhammadiyah goals.
The last speaker, Dr. Acim, S.Pd., M.Pd, discussed the history of education in the archipelago, starting from the development of education from Hindu-Buddhist, then the arrival of the Spanish and Portuguese who spread the teachings of the Catholic religion and also founded a seminary in Ternate 1536.
The event was hosted by Iing Yulianti, S.Pd., M.Pd, a lecturer at the Indonesian Education University with the moderator Dr. Nur Aida Kubangun, S.Pd., M.Pd, a lecturer at the University of Pattimura.
