Cokroaminoto’s openness to people who want to deepen their knowledge of politics means that his residence is always used for discussions by movement figures. Soekarno described Cokroaminoto’s life as the wellspring of all ideologies (Lubis, 1992: 67). What Soekarno expressed regarding the statement above cannot be separated from the memories of his life in Surabaya, where Cokroaminoto galvanized Soekarno’s education both in terms of politics and religion. It was revealed that “…Bung Karno often followed Cokro, who was then in his 30s, around from one area to another” (Daras, 2013: 190). Regarding Soekarno’s feelings of admiration for Cokroaminoto, Adams (2014: 46) explains that:
“Mr. Cokro taught me about what and who he is, not about what he knows or what I will become. As a figure with creativity and high ideals, a warrior who loves the land of his homeland, Pak Cokro is my idol. I am his student. Consciously or not, he galvanized me.”
