Campus Asia is a collaborative program between UPI and several campuses in Asia, including Hiroshima University (Japan), Beijing Normal University (China), Changchun University (China), Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (South Korea), and Kasetsart University (Thailand). This activity was attended by 32 students from these six countries. The Campus Asia program focuses on social issues that occur in today’s global society with an emphasis on diversity and inclusion to realize one of the sustainable development goals promoted by PPB, namely “Leave No One Behind”.
During summer school activities, participants receive education about diversity and inclusion through lectures, field visits, discussion activities and data mining. Lectures are taught by experts in their fields on the topics of inclusion, social history of child protection and race, cultural and religious diversity, visualization of linguistic sounds, and learning engineering. One of these topics was taken as material for group discussion which was then presented on the last day of the activity. Discussion is a way of learning that is often used in class to develop cross-cultural understanding by sharing perspectives between countries, including during data mining activities, participants share ideas to find solutions to social problems in various fields.
