In the P3SI II Congress on August 25-26, 2021, at Yogyakarta State University, Dr. Abdul Syukur, M. Hum. was re-elected by acclamation as general chairman. He returned to lead P3SI for the period 2021-2025.
In addition to the general chairman election, the activities of the Second P3SI Congress on the second day were preceded by several other agendas. This activity was opened with a panel discussion with the theme “Curriculum and Development of History Learning Media.” This discussion presented the resource person, Prof. Dr. S Hamid Hasan (University of Education Indonesia), Dr. Sardiman AM (State University of Yogyakarta), and Dr. Rabaah bint Abdullah (Sultan Idris University Education Malaysia).
After the discussion, the activities continued with reading the accountability report from the General Chairperson of P3SI for the 2017-2021 period. In this activity, Dr. Wisnu, M.Hum (Surabaya State University) and Dr. Flores Tanjung (Medan State University). After hearing the accountability report, the event continued to the committee hearing. There are three trial commissions, namely Commission A, which Observes the Accountability Report of the P3SI Management. Commission B discusses the requirements for the nomination of the P3SI Chair, Commission C discusses Curriculum and MBKM, and Commission D discusses Publications and Recommendations.
After the committee hearing was completed, the event continued with the selection of candidates for chairman. The results of the selection there are several names that appear as candidates for general chairman, namely Dr. Abdul Syukur, M. Hum. (State University of Jakarta), Dr. Agus Mulyana, M.Hum (Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia), Dr. Zulkarnain, M.Pd. (State University of Yogyakarta), Dr. Ari Sapto, M. Hum. (State University of Malang), Dr. H.M. Rasyid Ridha (Makassar State University), Dr. Hamdan Tri Atmaja (Semarang State University), Dr. Bahri (Makassar State University), Dr. Umasih (State University of Jakarta), Prof. Dr. Nana Supriatna (University of Education Indonesia), Dr. Wawan Darmawan (University of Education Indonesia), and Dr. Syarifudin (Sriwijaya University). However, from the screening results, the prospective candidates stated that they were not willing to advance to the next stage. Thus, Dr. Abdul Syukur was elected by acclamation.
