Haji Agus Salim taught a simple life. Even though he is one of the country’s officials, he does not live in a treasure. During his life, Haji Agus Salim only lived in a rented house. Haji Agus Salim, for example, later “educated” prominent Islamic politicians such as M. Natsir and Mr Moh. Roem, throughout his life, the first former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, was never able to have his own house. In other words, Haji Agus Salim, throughout his life, only lived in a rented house.
Nevertheless, a simple life does not prevent Haji Agus Salim from living happily. He always teaches his children how to feel happiness in a difficult life. One day the rain was weighty; Agus Salim’s hajj rented a house with much leaking. Haji Agus Salim did not complain about the situation and instead brought a place to collect the leaky water. Then he invited his children to make boats from paper. Haji Agus Salim and his children can still be happy in the middle of the leaky house
