The hobby of going back and forth to prison

Our Proclaimer has a hobby of returning to prison. Indeed, this was not because of his criminal behavior but because of his courage in opposing the Dutch Colonial Government. Soekarno founded the PNI (Indonesian National Party) on July 4, 1927, aiming for an independent Indonesia. As a result, the Dutch put him in Sukamiskin prison, Bandung, on December 29, 1929. Eight months later, he was tried. He was imprisoned in the Class I Sukamiskin Penitentiary in 1930. Soekarno was sentenced to four years in prison by the Bandung Landraat trial. His defense at the trial, entitled Indonesia Klaagt Aan or “Indonesia Sues,” angered the Dutch government. Mr. Sartono, Mr. Sujudi, Mr Sastromuljono, and legal expert R Idih Prawiradiputra defended them. Speech in defense of Indonesia Suing, delivered by Soekarno
