The Peak of the 67th UPI Anniversary Event, Rector: Human Resources is the Highest Priority

Bandung, UPI – Thursday (21/10) morning UPI held the 67th UPI Anniversary Peak Event. The activity was held at the Achmad Sanusi Building (ex. General Meeting Hall), UPI Bumi Siliwangi Campus, Bandung City. The peak of the Anniversary was held offline by members of the procession, which was also attended by the Chancellor of UPI, Prof. Dr. HM Solehuddin, M.Pd., MA., Secretary of the UPI Board of Trustees (MWA) and their ranks, Chair of the UPI Board of Professors (DGB) and their ranks, Chair of the UPI Academic Senate (SA) and their ranks, representatives from BNI Bandung College Branch, as well as all guests. The activity also took place online for some of the other guests.

Starting the activity, the Chancellor of UPI delivered his remarks and successively the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Minister of Investment of the Republic of Indonesia represented by individual staff. The Peak Anniversary event also presented Dr. Asep M. Mulyana, SH., M. Hum., Head of the West Java High Prosecutor’s Office representing the Attorney General of the Republic of Indonesia, to deliver scientific orations that are in line with the spirit of improvement that UPI continues to echo.

The UPI Chancellor then delivered his 67th UPI Anniversary Speech with the big theme “Building Quality and Equitable Education for Advanced Indonesia.” In his speech entitled “Transformation towards Corporate Management in a Digital Ecosystem,” the Chancellor said that forming superior human resources is the highest priority and is a challenge and an effort to develop education to face the era of disruption in this 21st-century situation. The Chancellor’s explanation then illustrates that education needs to play an essential role in the era of disruption.

The phenomenon of the integration of the cyber and physical worlds then gives birth to new types of jobs and positions, and the current world of education must consider it. The Chancellor said that efforts to manage, provide facilities, and strengthen the competence of prospective educators to be more creative and innovative in academic units, especially in teaching students according to the challenges of the times, are the concern of UPI as an education campus in Indonesia.

The culmination of the 67th UPI Anniversary Event gave several awards in some categories, including the Best Research and Publication Performance Competition in the Lecturer category with the Best Research and Publication Performance and Regional Faculties/Campuses with the Best Research and Publication Performance, Blended Learning Readiness Competition in Academic Units in the category of Study Program Level and Study Program Management Unit Level, Website Unit Award in the category of Faculty/SPs/Regional Campus Academic Units, Study Program Levels, and Non-academic Unit Levels.
In another awarding session, UPI held the 2021 UPI Anniversary Innovation Award 2021 in Industrial Patent, Matching Fund Winner, Educational Innovation, Non-educational Innovation, and University Center of Excellence. UPI also gave the 2021 Public Relations Competition Award, which was given in several categories, including UPI News Contributor, TVUPI Program, Social Media Contribution, Podcast Resource Person, and Coverage and Publication. UPI also gave a special award in the Service Innovation and Collaboration Competition during the Pandemic Period. Congratulations to all the winners; hopefully, it can be motivation so that they can give the best contribution to their beloved campus.
