During the operation to crush the PKI, Sarwo Edhie held a general meeting attended by the people of Boyolali City. In the general meeting held openly, Sarwo Edhie announced a choice to the public. Sarwo Edhie asked who wanted to behead him; he would be paid five thousand. When asked by the community, there was no answer; Sarwo Edhie increased the fee to one hundred thousand. Finally, after several minutes of no one answering, Sarwo Edhie said that the PKI must be opposed if the people present do not want their heads cut off. Since that general meeting, the youth in Boyolali were trained by the RPKAD to fight the PKI (Tempo Editor, 2012: 15).
